Evil Dead: The Musical: Prop Design

Hero Props constructed for Evil Dead: The Musical in Austin, TX. I constructed the chainsaw hand from a Tropicana orange juice jug, tupperware containers, metal flashing, and masonite, which I then wrapped in bicycle chain for the blade. The Necronomicon ex Mortis (roughly translated as “Book of the Dead”) came to life as a clay relief, molded in plaster. The rubber cast created an unnervingly fleshy texture. I bound the book and painted the exterior.
